Travel & Stay
Getting There
Genoa (GOA): The closest airport (45 min). Take a taxi to Genova Brignole station, then a direct train to Santa Margherita Ligure.
Milan (MXP/LIN): A 2.5–3 hour journey. You can take a shuttle to Milano Centrale for a direct train, or rent a car for the most flexibility getting to and from the airport.
Getting Around
The train is the best way to explore Ligurian coastal towns. While a car is helpful for the Milan transfer, we suggest parking it at your hotel for the weekend as coastal roads are narrow and parking is limited.
For the party at Torre San Gioachino on Saturday, we will provide shuttles from and to Santa Margherita and Rapallo (details to follow).
Local Taxi: +39 010 5966
Where to Stay
Accommodation in Liguria in September will be limited, so we recommend booking as soon as possible. The most convenient locations are Santa Margherita (check out Hotel Laurin, Hotel Tigullio Et De Milan, Hotel Miramare) and Rapallo (check out Hotel Astoria, Hotel Vesuvio).
Things To Do
What to see
If you have a few extra days, here are our personal favorites:
Portofino: Just a 15-minute ferry or taxi from Santa Margherita (or a beautiful 1-hour coastal walk).
Genova: Don’t miss the Porto Antico and the Centro Storico, one of Europe’s largest medieval quarters.
Nervi: A hidden gem (and Luca's hometown), famous for a stunning cliffside walkway (Passeggiata Garibaldi) and its beautiful park.
Cinque Terre: If you have time, take the train further south to visit the five colorful villages (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and best explored by train or boat.
Where to eat
Langosteria Paraggi, located in the stunning Paraggi bay, it’s chic, glamorous, and serves excellent seafood right on the sand.
Manuelina (Recco), the birthplace of the legendary Focaccia di Recco (thin, crispy layers filled with melted cheese).
Trattoria Ugo and Sà Pesta (Genova), for authentic Genovese classics.
Gifts
Having you with us is the greatest gift we could ask for. If you’d still like to send a gift our way, a contribution toward our honeymoon would be so appreciated.
